This image depicts a family of resident Orca, or Killer Whales. They are on their way to the village who has an affiliation with them, to share in the feast which celebrates the beginning of the return of the salmon people. The people and the Orca both depend on the Salmon people to supply them with the majority of their food source. On the West Coast of Canada, the people were able to have such a sophisticated and rewarding culture because of the abundance of food from the sea and the many things that could be made from the cedar tree.
